Our general philosophy

Let’s start with the basics: We love what we do!

At our core, we put people first. Sure, models and theories can be helpful, but generally, we like to keep it simple.

What we talk about is pretty straightforward, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Sometimes, it’s bloody hard! Mastering these powerskills requires practice, getting out of our comfort zone, and stepping into the learning zone. To enable that, we keep the theory light and instead invest in sharing, discussing, interacting, and applying.

Our workshops are the time where it’s fine for your learners to stumble. It’s going to be awkward, messy, and a little bit confusing for them at times, and that’s great! They’re going to be trying out new things and challenging old beliefs. But it’s also going to be enlightening, encouraging, and empowering. It’s where growth happens.

We bring a uniquely Australian energy. We’re big on impact, but we’re also laid back. We want your learners to have a bit of fun. We bias casual over formal. We don’t jam with teacher/student dynamics. Your learners are adults, so we treat them as such. We’re all in this together.

We are committed to community, and the desire to lift others up. We're a proudly LGBTQIA+ owned business and donate a proportion of profits to Minus18 who do great work supporting queer youth. We also run free workshops that encourage women and other underrepresented groups to engage in more self-promotion.

THE USUAL PROCESS LOOKS A BIT LIKE THIS:

  1. You reach out to us. Let us know a bit about your organisation and what challenges you think we might be able to help with.
  2. We’ll jump on a call (or grab a coffee if you’re in Brisbane), and talk about what your learners need.
  3. We’ll give you our frank advice – which might be proposing a way for us to work together, or being upfront when we think we’re not the right provider for what you need.
  4. If we hit it off, we’ll finalise a proposal, including proposed formats, a rough content plan, and costs.
  5. Once that’s all agreed, we set dates and then you put your feet up while we get to work designing your session. We don’t do “off the shelf” – we have some core modules, but they are always customised to the client.
  6. We’ll run the sessions – either in person or through Zoom/Teams. You’ll get a summary of the feedback received from your learners.
  7. We’ll get together on a call. This is the time to review the feedback, lessons learned and discuss ideas for how to keep the learning alive and embed the new skills and behaviours in your team.

Learning Formats

There are five main formats we can deploy, depending on budget, the time available, and the desired learning outcomes.

Learning Bursts

We LOVE these. They are 60-120 minute sessions on a single, key topic. They work really well as lunch and learn sessions, to introduce a new concept, or to address something that’s topical right now for your organisation. You can have them in-person or virtual, and they work brilliantly when combined over a period of time for a cost effective yet cohesive program. We have dozens of topics available!

In-person workshops

This is pretty familiar territory, but it packs a punch! It’s great to be able to together in a classroom. We always say it’s easier to get on the same page when you’re in the same room. This could be a half day, full day, or multi day program. They’re great for going deep, building connections, and giving space for loads of practice.

Virtual workshops

Working with remote or dispersed teams? In recent times, platforms like Teams and Zoom have made virtual delivery a viable alternative to the more traditional in-person workshop. We make ours as interactive as possible – polls, breakout groups, web-based activities, and more. We prefer to keep virtual sessions to a maximum of half day, but can discuss your specifics.

Elearning Modules

Using industry-leading tools, we can build you a custom module for hosting on your LMS. We partner on design elements and content inclusions, and then you receive a swanky SCORM file that’s 100% yours. No ongoing license costs. No ‘per user’ fees. It’s all yours.

Blended Solutions

And of course, we can also offer blended solutions that combine any or all of these options. Blended programs are great for longer term initiatives like building a leadership culture. They allow you to build communities and cohorts over time, and go deeper on the content.
